American Pet Products Association (APPA) hired Jennifer Dehmel as director, legislative and regulatory research.

In her role, Dehmel will assist APPA members by tracking new developments in state and federal laws that impact the industry, sharing educational content, initiating cooperative efforts with other interest groups and advocating members’ concerns with government leaders.

Dehmel brings to her position 25 years experience, most recently serving as a litigation associate at Steinberg & Cavaliere, LLP where she conducted legal research and discovery, drafted counterclaims and answered disciplinary complaints in context of professional liability proceedings. Dehmel earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. She continued her education and obtained her juris doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, Conn.

“On behalf of the APPA staff and board, we welcome Jennifer to the Association and believe she’s the perfect candidate to join our government and regulatory affairs team,” said Steve King, CEO of APPA. “Her vast knowledge will be a true asset to our efforts on behalf of our members and the pet industry.”
