Andis Adds 5 Grooming Experts to Education Team
Andis Company named five professional grooming experts as new educators for the organization’s animal division.
Jessica Moore, Valerie Partynski, Anne Francis, Dana Chavez-Rey and Mike Harbour strengthen Andis’ team of grooming specialists and help continue the brand’s commitment to offering educational opportunities to create a global platform for animal education.
Moore, small animal – all breed educator, has been a pet stylist for 19 years and is the owner of Show Stoppers Pet Styling in Waukegan, Ill. After several years of grooming on her own, for both corporate and private salons, she entered the grooming competition ring in 2006. She has obtained a multitude of first, second and third place wins, including many group placements in entry, intermediate and open level as well as several Best-Groomed Dog and Best in Show awards.
Partynski, small animal – all breed educator, has been grooming professionally since her graduation from Great Lakes Grooming Academy in 2001, where she eventually became an instructor for several years. She has won several awards including Best in Show and Best All Around Groomer in 2010. She was ranked as one of the top 20 groomers in the country in 2013 and was also nominated for national accolades including Up and Coming Groomer of the Year in 2014 and Up and Coming Speaker of the Year in 2015.
Francis, small animal – all breed educator, is a Certified Master Groomer with the National Dog Groomers Association of America and has been grooming for over 20 years at the Village Groomer in Walpole, Mass. As a GroomTeam USA member, she has been nominated for Barkleigh Honors Awards for Up and Coming Speaker and Journalist of the Year. She also won the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Award for Journalism for her how-to article in Grooming Business Magazine and the William Stone Memorial Award, given to the groomer who has the best rapport with their competition dogs.
Chavez-Rey, small animal – feline educator, was a lead veterinary technician at the North Peninsula Humane Society from 1998-2000, and worked in veterinary care and dentistry from 2000 to 2005. In 2005, Dana and her husband founded A Purrfect Groomer with their mobile grooming van. In 2016, Dana joined the Intellectual Groomers Association (IGA) as a founding member and was on-staff as an expert in feline grooming. As a staff member of IGA, she traveled the U.S. giving seminars on feline grooming and certifying qualified groomers.
Harbour, goat and lamb expert, has been an accomplished show lamb and goat producer for over 30 years. He pursued a college degree in animal science while competing 7 ½ with the Texas Agriculture Extension Service as a county extension agent. Harbour and his family operate Harbour Livestock in Texas, a ranching operation that primarily raises show goats and sheep with the addition of commercial cattle.
