Animal Supply Company Acquires Bark to Basics

Animal Supply Company (ASC) acquired Bark to Basics, a family-owned distributor that serves independent retailers, day care/kennels, vet hospitals and groomers. Bark to Basics operates in six states with two distribution centers in Kansas City, Kan. and Houston.

“Bark to Basics is a great addition to the ASC family, as it furthers our ability to serve our existing customers, welcome new customers and allow ASC to provide a key brand, Champion Petfoods, makers of ORIJEN and ACANA Dog and Cat Foods, to the Midwest and Texas,” said Don McIntyre, CEO of ASC. “This strategic acquisition also brings additional sales resources to support our delivery of Champion to customers and continue our commitment to providing exceptional service.”

“This is an exciting opportunity for two great companies,” said Terry Garberg, Owner of Bark to Basics. “Bark to Basics and ASC both share an unwavering commitment to service, a passion for pets and a focus on strong relationships with both customers and vendors.”
