American Beagle Outfitters

American Eagle recently announced that it is launching a new line for their customers’ furry friends. American Beagle Outfitters is a line of laid-back fashion items for dogs whose owners love the lifestyle brand. The video accompanying the announcement seems more like a mockumentary than a "dogumentary," as it's being billed, and the Internet is abuzz with rumors of the line being an April Fool's hoax—but all for a good cause.

For every order of three items or more, customers get 20% off; and $1 from each of those orders will go to the ASPCA with a goal of raising $100,000. It is suspicious that there are pictures of dogs styled in the items that will supposedly be for sale, but nowhere to buy the merchandise (they claim to be busy designing it). The pictures of the pups are still cute to look at and you can click through to shop their looks for their human counterparts (a.k.a. the American Eagle customers).

Lots of fashion retailers make clothes for humans and their fur babies; this past fall, Ralph Lauren held their first-ever dog accessories fashion show to great success. Ralph Lauren also partnered with the ASPCA and even used adoptable dogs as their models—the American Beagle site does not say whether the current dog models are looking for loving homes or if they're simple in it for the stylish swag. American Eagle does say that customers can submit photos of their own dogs in the brand's spring break collection via Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #AEOSTYLE to star in the brand's next campaign. Those will be some lucky dogs.
