Natural Numbers

While it is obvious that the natural products trend is still having a big impact on the pet industry—and on pet specialty stores, in particular—Pet Business recently conducted a survey of pet store owners and operators to see just how pervasive the the natural movement has become, as well as to reveal some of the challenges and opportunities facing pet stores in this area. What we found is that nearly half of responding retailers identify their businesses as "natural" pet stores, with many placing a heavy focus on stocking and promoting natural nutritional products such as food, treats and supplements.
