Cardinal Pet Care Donates To Holiday Food & Toy Drive

Cardinal Pet Care participated in the Azusa Holiday Food & Toy Drive, an initiative that collects non-perishable food and unwrapped toys, and distributes them to local food banks and families and kids in need.

The annual event is hosted by the Azusa Chamber of Commerce with the help of the board of directors including Cardinal Pet Care’s chief financial officer Cheryl Kohorst (past chair of the board). Cardinal employees filled boxes at the company’s headquarters with donated food and toys, which, along with boxes from other local businesses, were dropped off at a collection breakfast held by the Chamber. The drive collected a large enough quantity of food and toys to help thousands of needy kids in the community.

“Many people are familiar with the work Cardinal does to benefit animal charities, but during this time of year especially, we want to make sure not to forget our human friends here in our own community,” said Tony de Vos, president of Cardinal Pet Care. “The food and toy donations provided by Cardinal and other local businesses will brighten the holidays of families and children who otherwise might not have much to celebrate.”

The event was the 13th Annual Holiday Food & Toy Drive hosted by the Azusa Chamber of Commerce. Local dignitaries in attendance included Azusa Mayor Joe Rocha and Board of Education member Yolanda R. Pena.
