Fabrizio Perez, marketing director at Snif-Snax, discusses the company’s commitment to producing only the highest-quality salmon treats.





Pet Business: Tell us about Snif-Snax. How and when did the company get started? What was your inspiration for getting into the dog treat business?

Fabrizio Perez: Our CEO has been in the salmon industry for 35 years. Snif-Snax was started just over a year ago, after his daughter—a longtime advocate for animal rights—encouraged him to develop a new product that would combine their passion for quality salmon and love for animals.


PB: What types of dog treats does Snif-Snax offer? What makes these products stand out in the marketplace? What are some of the key features?

Perez: We offer high-quality, protein-rich, human-grade salmon dog treats. They are packed with DHA and EPA omega-3s and contain no additives or GMO ingredients, so you know your dog is only getting the very best.



PB: What is the company’s approach to ingredient sourcing and manufacturing? How does this set Snif-Snax apart from other treat vendors?

Perez: Our salmon are born in the clear Atlantic waters of Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands. The fish are raised using the best practices—free of antibiotics and to the most rigorous standards set by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). Finally, we smoke the salmon in our USA facility using all natural hardwood chips.



PB: What kind of sales and marketing support does Snif-Snax provide for pet stores? Do you offer merchandising displays, planograms, sampling, etc.?

Perez: Yes! We have an in-house marketing team who will work directly with pet stores to create any displays and provide samplings. We will also use our extensive social media presence to highlight pet stores and local retailers across the country.


PB: What does the future hold for Snif-Snax? Do you have any new products in the pipeline? How do you see the company’s product line expanding and evolving in years to come?

Perez: Snif-Snax is poised to be the leading provider of premium salmon dog treats on the market. Our experience in this particular fishing industry allows us to create a variety of products without sacrificing the quality and health benefits of the salmon. At the moment, 10 cents of every pack sold will go to Rescue Global, which is helping rebuild the island of Dominica which was devastated by the recent hurricanes. Stay tuned for more to come! PB
