Groom South Announces New Ownership and Plans

The Groom South grooming competition, now owned and operated by Chuck Simons of Groomers Helper, will be held at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. on Nov. 18-19.

The November 2019 contest will have one division open to all competitors. The four GroomTeam USA sanctioned classes, Hand Stripping, Spaniels & Setters, Poodles and Purebred Scissoring, will adhere to GroomTeam USA Open division rules and be eligible for point earning opportunities.

Groom South will offer Best in Show and Best All Around Groomer awards, with Christina Pawlosky judging all classes.

Simons is pleased to have the opportunity to retain the GroomTeam USA sanctioned status of Groom South 2019 and looks at the show as a launching pad for his significantly larger event in 2020, Groom South Florida.

Groom South Florida, an international grooming show planned for May 2020, will focus on the Latin flair engrained in the western hemisphere. Based in Miami, the tri-lingual event will cater to groomers from the U.S., Canada, Central and South America and overseas.

Simons is the inventor of the Groomers Helper Safety & Positioning System, and the owner and operator of The Pet Salon in Margate, N.J., along with his wife, Beth, NCMG. Simons has been a longtime supporter of many organizations in the industry, including GroomTeam USA. He has won The Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry, as well as The Barkleigh Honors Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry, along with multiple additional industry trade awards.
