IBPSA Makes Staffing Changes

The International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA) hired Benjamin L. “Ben” Day as its chief operating officer (COO) and appointed Kelly Cullum, Mike Hajduk and Alex McKinnon to its advisory board.

 

“Many in the pet care services industry know Ben’s work as an expert in pet care facility safety, something that IBPSA is committed to increasing in the industry, as well as increasing the knowledge and importance of [safety] among pet owners,” said Carmen Rustenbeck, IBPSA’s founder and CEO. “Along with Ben, our new advisory board members bring an additional, and invaluable, depth and breadth of pet care business experience to our association and its members.”

 

Day served on the association’s advisory board since 2011. He has worked in the safety profession for more than 30 years and is experienced in risk management and safety. Day has been published in multiple industry magazines and speaks to large industry groups across the U.S. on how to set up a successful safety program to protect employees. He regularly instructs on a variety of first aid, safety and HR topics, and holds multiple certifications in different aspects of the safety, risk management and loss control fields.

 

Cullum is the CEO and owner of Best Friends Fur Ever Inc. (BFFE), a full-service canine care organization with over 80 dog care professionals and two locations in the Baltimore area. BFFE opened its first location in 2004 and its second in 2012. BFFE entertains between 100 to 200 guests per facility daily with daycare, boarding, special needs/medical boarding, training or grooming services. Under Cullum’s direction, BFFE is dedicated to the comfort, safety and well-being of all its guests. Each BFFE location has a 9,000+ customer base.

 

Hajduk currently serves as president of Callahan Roach Business Solutions, pricing and financial experts for service providers in a variety of industries, including pet care. Hajduk manages and oversees the day-to-day operations of the company based in Arlington, Texas. Since 1989, the company has delivered products to or trained over 5,000 service providers in the U.S.

 

McKinnon is a brand builder via leadership in innovation and teamwork, driving business growth. In 2011, McKinnon conceived, founded and launched the Kinn, Inc. brand of pet care products. He has 30 years of increasing responsibility in general management, brand marketing and product management senior leadership roles with Kinn, Gillette, Braun, Bell Sports, Sara Lee, Sylvan Learning Center, Hampton Products International and TopicalNet based in the U.S., Spain, Germany and Scandinavia.
