PLC Partners with GreaterGood.org for Hurricane Aid
In order to streamline relief efforts and ensure maximum assistance from the country’s pet care community to those most in need, the Pet Leadership Council has partnered GreaterGood.org to provide aid to those impacted by both Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. After significant coordination of logistics and support from pet suppliers for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, this partnership will further streamline the delivery of donations to shelters and rescues impacted by Irma in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
“While support from so many companies has been tremendous, we’re most helpful if we have allies on the ground and entrenched in the direct relief efforts,” said Bob Vetere, Pet Leadership Council chairman. “With our partnership with GreaterGood.org, we’re now able to have more accurate transport information and direction in connecting our medical supplies, food and other aid, to those who can get it to all the shelters and areas where it is needed most.”
GreaterGood.org has been and will continue to help The Pet Leadership Council and is managing the distribution of desperately needed items from PLC members, including food, crates, litter, hard goods and veterinary medical products, provided by almost two dozen major brands and retailers. In the first few days of response, they have either shipped, received in warehouses or have scheduled to arrive enough pet food for one million meals along with other critical supplies.
“We are thrilled with our partnership with the Pet Leadership Council,” said Liz Baker, GreaterGood.org’s executive director. “PLC members are a critical link in times of disaster allowing us to get much-needed supplies out efficiently and quickly to help pets in need.”
