Pet Connections Expo Adds New Speaker
Dr. Cavazzoni has been leading the international scientific committee of Farmina Pet Foods since 2012. His focus is animal nutrition and he has coordinated multiple cruelty-free scientific research studies in partnership with 10+ international universities.
The doctor's presentation, “Are Pet Foods Truly Complete and Balanced Nutrition for Carnivores?," will address the true meaning of complete and balanced nutrition beyond the label.
Dr. Cavazzoni will provide an overview and comparison of different nutritional solutions for pets including raw, freeze-dried, wet, dry and homemade. The pros and cons of these nutrition forms will be explored from both clinical and scientific standpoints. He aims to provide independent retailers with the ability to decode wording on product packaging and labels, and plans to offer advice on finding the correct balance between nature and science.
"I look forward to this opportunity to not only share the knowledge I have acquired throughout years of independent research on pet nutrition, but also the chance to speak with independent retailers to learn what challenges they face,” said Dr. Cavazzoni. “Social media and the internet, while incredible tools to learn and share with others, can also lead to the spreading of misinformation. I hope to prepare independent retailers with more in-depth knowledge so they can better inform and educate their customers to make the best nutritional choices for their pets.”
“Empowering independent pet retailers to succeed is the ultimate goal of the Pet Connections Expo and we are pleased to add Dr. Marco Cavazzoni to our distinguished faculty of presenters that will address this goal,” said Bill Doherty, ICDevents president.
The session is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 10:45 a.m.
