Pet Releaf Achieves U.S. Hemp Authority Certification
Pet Releaf revealed that it’s the first “pet only” CBD company to achieve the U.S. Hemp Authority (USHA) Certification.
The U.S. Hemp Authority Certification Program is the hemp industry’s initiative to promote high standards, best practices, self-regulation and to give confidence to consumers and law enforcement that hemp products are safe and legal.
Pet Releaf is also the only pet CBD company to sit on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, the group that provided the seed money for this third-party initiative in conjunction with the Hemp Industries Association. The goal of the USHA Certification program is to undertake top-to-bottom third-party audits of a company’s entire manufacturing process, which is overseen by Where Food Comes From.
The USHA Seal has three levels of audits – hemp farmers, hemp processors and hemp manufacturers. For a hemp-based product to bear the USHA Seal, the company’s farmers, processors and its manufacturing facilities must all pass the audits and achieve the designation. That means that any product bearing the USHA Seal has proven safety, traceability, transparency and legality from the time the hemp is planted to the time it appears on a retail shelf.
“The intense, hemp-specific audits required to achieve U.S. Hemp Authority Certification are far superior to general supplement certifications because they are overseen by the most knowledgeable hemp experts on the planet,” said Steve Smith, co-Founder and president of Pet Releaf.
