Petcurean Aids Victims of Hurricane Florence
The Greenville Humane Society took in more than 65 animals from residents and other shelters that needed to flee during Hurricane Florence, while Naturally Unleashed is working with its local Chamber of Commerce to donate pet food to people in the area who are still unable to return home.
Due to the size and anticipated impact of Hurricane Florence, weather officials placed more than 1 million people under evacuation orders. As people vacated the area, they left their pets behind. The donations come from the help of one of Petcurean's Pennsylvania-based distributors.
“The areas affected by Hurricane Florence have weeks of difficult recovery ahead,” said Christine Mallier, PR and community relations manager at Petcurean. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide even a small bit of aid so that organizations like the Greenville Humane Society and Naturally Unleashed can adequately provide for the many pets that have been displaced by the storm and are waiting to be reunited with their families, or who are still with their families but unable to return home.”
Petcurean is committed to helping pets and pet parents that are impacted by natural disasters and supporting the animal rescue groups that work to assist animals in need. In 2018, Petcurean has made 177 donations that total more than 35,000 lbs. of pet food so far.
