Puppy Bowl XII Puts You On The Playing Field

The NFL Conference Championships are over, and only two teams remain. We all know what it’s time for now.

That’s right. The Puppy Bowl.

This year, Animal Planet gives puppy lovers a new way to immerse themselves in the fluffy fun with Puppy Bowl Virtual Reality. Now, you can experience puppy playtime through a 360-degree video. Use the controls in the upper left corner or click and drag to move around the video embedded below for the feeling of standing right there on the field for all the canine action:

You can also enjoy the puppy VR on a smartphone with the DiscoveryVR app, but the most immersive experience comes with watching the mobile app in Virtual Reality mode with supported goggles, like Google Cardboard.

Animal Planet’s adoption-focused extravaganza will feature 49 puppies in the starting lineup from 44 animal shelters and rescue organizations representing 25 states and Puerto Rico. The starting lineup has pups big and small, from a Chihuahua to a Great Pyrenees/Collie mix. Also new this year, the network is partnering with the Pro Football Hall of Fame to honor legacy Puppy Bowl-ers and promote the adoption of older animals. In keeping with tradition, felines get their time to shine during the Kitty Half-time Show on a San Francisco-inspired playscape, reflecting this year's location of that other popular Bowl.

Puppy Bowl XII will air on Animal Planet on February 7, starting at 3 p.m. Eastern time. In the meantime, there’s also a locker room live stream to fulfill your daily puppy pick-me-up needs.
