Tell us about Flair Flexible Packaging.  What is the company’s focus? Flair Flexible Packaging is a fully-integrated supplier of flexible film materials, technology and design solutions for the food and non-food industries. A leader in the world of specialty food packaging, Flair’s engineering team has created a range of packaging materials designed to meet unique product, process and shelf-life demands for customers across many industries.

Flair prides itself on the ability to offer custom and stock bags, pouches and films that fit customer’s individual product needs. Custom products are created by our award-winning design department and high-quality rotogravure printing capabilities. Flair also retains a selection of commonly-used packaging items for quick ordering and delivery.

What are some of the newest innovations from Flair? How do they improve upon previous packaging solutions? Convenience and sustainability are two of the prominent trends in pet products packaging across all pet categories. Consumers want more convenience features, but sustainability issues, such as recyclability, are top of mind.

Flair has developed ENVi recyclable films, which have the same features and benefits you expect from traditional materials, in a store drop-off recyclable format. ENVi is available in various formats with custom features to meet a wide range of applications, including stand up pouches, flat bottom pouches and M-seal bags.

What sets Flair’s packaging solutions apart from others in the marketplace? Flair is uniquely positioned to bring packaging concepts from around the world to the North American market. As a vertically-integrated company, Flair is distinctive for its complete research and development capabilities, including colorful, crisp and dimensional up-to-10 color reverse rotogravure printing; global production and comprehensive logistics; proven Brand Color Management program; and Certified GFSI and FSSC 22000 food safety credentials.

How important is packaging in shaping brand identity? How does it impact brands? Brand owners believe packaging is crucial to their brand’s success.  CPG companies are investing in packaging to respond to current trends such as premium, convenience and environmentally-friendly packaging.

Flair Flexible Packaging collaborates with brand owners to internalize a brand’s values and represent them in the marketplace with skill and confidence through effective, eye-catching, convenient packaging solutions.

What does the future hold for Flair Flexible Packaging? Pet food packaging suppliers are researching ways to make their offerings more sustainable without sacrificing important features, like product protection and freshness. Flair Flexible Packaging continues to work with the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and How2Recycle to reduce the carbon footprint, achieve durability and prolong shelf life of foods, and meet the needs consumers expect from packaging.

Consumers are looking for premium products for their pets, and Flair is committed to providing a variety of customized packaging structures that improve product protection and preservation, while enhancing product presentation and promotion. Flair continually delivers solutions that affect every aspect of a product’s success in the marketplace. Flair has created a range of packaging materials to meet unique product process and storage demands for the pet food industry. Products such as FlairPak vacuum pouches, PLATiNUM thermoforming films, LiDynamics lidding films, stand-up pouches and large format bags, including flat bottom, continue to help ensure the success of pet care products in the marketplace.  PB
