TailsSpin Helps Elementary School Win Blue Ribbon Award

TailsSpin Pet Food & Accessories has been a business partner and school council member of Jacob G. Smith Elementary School in Savannah, Ga. for the past six years. TailsSpin’s ongoing community support is one of the criteria that contributed to Jacob G. Smith Elementary being chosen as a 2016 National Blue Ribbon Award winner.

The National Blue Ribbon Award Program recognizes schools that have achieved high levels of performance or made significant improvements in closing the achievement gap. Schools are nominated by the state department of education and then complete a comprehensive application about school practices.

“Jacob G. Smith has been able to rely on TailsSpin’s ongoing support for creating a community that has a mission to better our children’s education,” Vernon Cole, Jacob G. Smith Elementary principal, said. “We have a close relationship that goes beyond fundraising. Their active participation as a school council member, as well as being a business partner, contributes to the betterment of our student body.”

“It’s about taking care of your family, whether two or four legged,” said Giovanni Senafe, co-founder of Bentley's Pet Stuff, TailsSpin’s parent company.

“We continually are so humbled and honored to be a part of Jacob G. Smith Elementary’s recognition,” said Jeff Manley, co-owner of TailsSpin.
