The 22nd Pet Asia Fair Reaches New Heights
The 22nd edition of Pet Fair Asia, organized by VNU Exhibitions Asia, took place in Shanghai on Aug. 21-25, 2019. With 14 halls, the exhibition hosted 1,591 exhibitors and welcomed 67,163 professionals from 42 countries and regions.
Pet Fair Asia hosted 8,656 visitors from overseas and had an increase in buyer attendance from South-East Asia, particularly from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Foreign exhibitors at the show reached new heights, particularly in pet food, snacks and pet food technologies. VNU Exhibitions Asia also noticed an increase in new local Chinese brands showcasing innovative products, a strong shift from pure manufacturing to “brand” logic.
The show, organized in product sections, offered an extended range of the industry supply chain: four halls for pet food, two halls for treats, a hall for pet food technologies and pet food suppliers, a hall for small pets, reptiles and aquatics products, a hall exclusively for cat products, three halls for toys, accessories and garments, a hall for veterinary products and pharmaceutical companies, and a hall for smart products and wearable technologies.
The exhibition provided a platform for multiple product launches, strategic internal meetings from multinational groups (Nestle, Royal Canin) and daily opportunities to learn and network with peers from all over the world.
Events and seminars took place during the show: 6th Annual Meeting for Pet Hospital Management; 4th Pet Fashion Show; 12th Shanghai Veterinary Conference; CKU Grooming Competitions and Lectures; Animal Welfare Seminars; “Pro Plan” CKU All-Breed National Champion Dog Show; “Royal Canin” ICE Cat Show; “Wanpy” CKU Diving Competition; “Navarch” Dog Olympics; Veterinary Camps for kids; etc.
VNU Exhibitions Asia also announced the launch of Pet Fair South-East Asia (SEA), a new exhibition that will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on Oct. 14-16 in 2020. Pet Fair SEA will serve a region in rapid development, host of 650 million inhabitants, with a middle class driving growth in the pet industry. It will be a B2B event developed with significant launch partners, and will propose an upgraded business experience with pre-arranged meetings, hosted buyer program and world-class content.
The 23rd Pet Fair Asia will return on Aug. 19-23 in 2020.
