Veteran Develops New Dog Toy

Published:

Barrett Ball LLC officially launched the Barrett Ball into the pet trade. The product is the brainchild of James Hayes, a disabled veteran who served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He developed a durable toy ball that his service dog wouldn’t be able to chew and destroy.

“My service dog Barrett has helped me tremendously in managing my PTSD and TBI,” said Hayes. “I wanted to create a toy he could finally enjoy as a way of giving back to him for all he has given me.”

The patent-pending Barrett Ball is made of solid natural rubber. The toy is one complete unit without a seam, making it more difficult to destroy. It is solid – not hollow like other products Hayes has tried unsuccessfully with Barrett. It comes in two sizes. The Large size has a 5-in. diameter, weighs 2 lbs. and comes in neon green. The medium size has a 2.5-in. diameter, 0.8-oz. weight and royal blue color.
