WPA Welcomes New President, Chairman
The World Pet Association (WPA) appointed Vic Mason as interim president and appointed Chris Clevers as the new chairman of its board.
Mason succeeds Jacinthe Moreau as president of WPA after she resigned to “pursue new opportunities,” the organization reported. Mason will lead the organization’s efforts in growing its annual event, SuperZoo, as well as support innovation in the area of new media endeavors throughout 2020.
“Our foundation in the pet industry is primed for launching new ventures across the consumer, B2B and pet community and I am proud to lead this organization through these new endeavors,” said Mason.
Mason offers 40 years of experience in the pet space, most recently serving as CEO and co-founder of Replenish Pet, a pet food company based in Perris, Calif. He has also worked as director of business development for Veterinary Service Inc., a West Coast animal health product distributor. Mason has served as a WPA board member since 2010 and was the previous chairman.
Clevers brings 44 years of experience in the aquatic space in the pet industry to his new role as chairman. He worked with Hikari Nutrition for the past 22 years. Clevers has also served on the WPA board since 2013 and served the organization in other capacities, including on the executive committee and a liaison to the Pet Care Trust.
Founded in 1950, WPA brings thought leadership, innovative thinking and best practices to the pet industry. The association’s goal is to foster the well-being of pets and their families, while ensuring the health and sustainability of the pet industry as a whole.
