PORTLAND, Maine–Planet Dog received the 2011 Small Business of the Year Award from the Portland Development Corporation. The Portland Development Corporation recognized Planet Dog for playing a major role in developing Portland’s economic vitality.
Planet Dog has played an instrumental role in the redevelopment of Portland’s Bayside neighborhood, a former industrial area, into a livable, walkable and vibrant urban greenway. Planet Dog is helping to preserve local romplands and create new green space. The company has donated $101,000 to support the Bayside Project as well as 101 dogwood trees planted along the new Bayside Trail.
