The Honest Kitchen Named Best Place to Work
September 4, 2013

The Honest Kitchen was named as one of Outside magazine's Best Places to Work. The company was ranked number 30 out of 100 selected companies.

"I'm so thrilled that The Honest Kitchen has made the Best Places to Work list again this year," said Lucy Postins, founder and CEO of The Honest Kitchen. "We have a real commitment to the well-being of our teams—both human and canine—and a strong focus on creating a working environment that fosters individuality and creativity, as we continue our fast-paced growth."

Outside's Best Places to Work project celebrates innovative companies setting a new standard for a healthy work-life balance. The yearlong selection process began with an outreach effort that identified a range of non-profit and for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in an office in the U.S. Participating companies were sent confidential employee-satisfaction surveys and employer-questionnaires to collect information about benefits, compensation, policies, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives and community outreach programs. Companies that best enable employees to pursue active lifestyles while also supporting their social and environmental contributions were selected.

The Honest Kitchen places a focus on encouraging healthy living. Its San Diego office is dog friendly, and in-office perks include two company-owned bikes for employees' personal use, monthly employee chair massages and reimbursement for fitness coverage. The company offers a flexible working schedule, so each person can create the workplace/outside balance they need.
