"We are thrilled to announce new grants to 11 exemplary canine service programs in 10 states across the country," said Kristen Smith, executive director of the Planet Dog Foundation.
The PDF grants will support service dog, therapy dog and other canine service programs. The new grantees include: A Fair Shake for Youth, Inc., in New York; American Scent Dog Association, in Little Rock, Ark.; Amercia's VetDogs—The Veteran's K-9 Corps, Inc., in Smithtown, N.Y.; Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey, in Whiting, N.J.; Detroit Public Safety Foundation (DPSF), in Detroit; Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc., in Bloomfield, Conn.; HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response (AACR) in Eugene, Ore.; MedStar Union Memorial Hospital (MUMH), in Baltimore; New Horizons Service Dogs, Inc. in Orange City, Fla.; Paws for People—Pet-Assisted Visitation Services, Inc., in Newark, Del; and Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, in Dallas.
Earlier this year, PDF reached its $1 million milestone. "Establishing these new partnerships is a great way for us to embark on our next million dollars of giving, and we look forward to learning more about our new grantees and seeing the grants in action," Smith said.
