PetHub Partners with DNA Center to Boost Chances of Finding Lost Pets
December 11, 2013

PetHub has partnered with DNA Diagnostic Center (DDC), a private DNA testing laboratory, to provide a critical tool for proving animal ownership and identification in the war against pet theft.

Nearly two million animals are stolen each year, and only about 10 percent are returned home, according to PetFinder.com. With that in mind, PetHub hopes DNA identification, in addition to its ID tags and software services, will increase an animal's chances of getting home.

"I want my dogs and cats to have every chance possible to get home again," said Tom Arnold, founder and CEO of PetHub. "They have PetHub ID tags, microchips, licenses and now their own DNA reports uploaded to their online PetHub.com profiles."

Since 1995, DDC has been dedicated to providing the highest quality human DNA testing services. DCC Veterinary, a division of DCC, provides the same quality testing and service for those seeking DNA services for animals.

"We are thrilled to partner with PetHub.com," said Randall Smith, national account manager at DCC's veterinary division. "Our DNA testing coupled with their software services for finding and returning lost animals is a powerful tool to keep our four-legged family members safe."
