The Yule Log is a broadcasting tradition that originated in 1966; New York television station WPIX filmed a running loop of a yule log burning in a festively decorated fireplace with Christmas music playing the background. What was originally made for city-dwellers without fireplaces in their homes became a widespread Christmas tradition. Over the years, The Yule Log has spawned many imitators, but none as cute as this new one featuring Lil Bub.

Fans of the perma-kitten, or any cat lover with Internet access, can enjoy Lil Bub’s take on the tradition with “Lil Bub’s Magical Yule Log” video.

From Lil Bub’s YouTube page:
“BUB loves being warm, especially this time of the year. In this amazing hour-long episode, BUB settles into a comfortable bout of fireside napping and purring. It's the perfect way to have BUB join your own holiday celebration!”

The cute cat alternates between soft, soothing purring and dozing by the fire—an adorable and relaxing holiday treat. At one point we see the heavily tattooed and therefore easily recognizable arm of Mike Bridavsky, Lil Bub’s owner, sneaking in to pet his feline friend. After all, what are the holidays without the ones you love?
