The Edge LED aquarium light fixture, from Aquatic Life, is designed to function as an all-purpose energy-efficient light fixture. The features sunrise and sunset functions, built-in moonlights and a three-channel timer. Using three-channel timer, hobbyists can independently control the bright white LEDs, mixed color LEDs and blue moonlight LEDs independently. The combination of LEDs provides the light necessary for keeping fresh water and marine aquariums, while the fixture’s integrated, anodized aluminum heat sink wicks heat away from the LEDs. The Edge LED is available in 24-, 36- and 48-in. lengths.
KDF 85/Catalytic Granular Activated Carbon Cartridge
Aquatic Life has debuted its KDF 85/Catalytic Granular Activated Carbon cartridge, which is designed to reduce and remove iron and hydrogen sulfide from municipal or other water supplies. It is effective in controlling the build-up of bacteria, algae, fungi and scale. The high-quality media, consisting of a mix of KDF 85 and granular activated carbon, reduces the taste, odor and dissolved organic chemicals from water supplies, resulting in the removal of 99 percent of dissolved metals, including lead, mercury, nickel and chromium. The KDF 85/Catalytic GAC cartridge is ideal for use as an incline carbon filter.
EcoTech Marine has introduced ReefLink, a wireless bridge that integrates the web-based EcoSmart Live Control platform with EcoTech Marine's line of advanced aquarium equipment. Using the ReefLink controller allows users complete control over their Radion LED lights—as well as VorTech Pumps in the future—from anywhere, any time using a compatible web browser or the app, which is currently available for Apple iOS devices through iTunes. An Android app will be released later this year. It is easy to setup. It can be placed anywhere within range of a user's WiFi router and powered on—no wires or adapters are necessary.
