After a fire tore through Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando in September, Pet Supermarket acted quickly in support of the nonprofit shelter. Pet Supermarket’s 16 Orlando-area stores came together to host a spontaneous fundraiser from September 23 to October 31 during which customers were asked to make $1, $3 and $5 donations at checkout. In total, Pet Supermarket customers raised $41,374 for Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, one of Central Florida’s oldest and largest animal welfare agencies.

As a result of the fire, Pet Alliance moved surviving animals to its facility in Sanford. Funds raised from the 16 Pet Supermarket locations will provide quality care for these trauma-stricken dogs and cats and support the building of a new shelter in Orlando. On Tuesday, November 30, the team from Pet Supermarket’s Winter Park location presented Pet Alliance representatives with the donations collected during the fundraiser in the amount of $41,374.
